Luvdisc Pokemon Crochet Pattern

It’s almost Valentines day!! I’m usually super pumped every year to make the best present I can, but for some reason, I’m feeling less enthusiastic about it this year. It might be because I have a full day of classes on the 14th…meeeh. After wrecking my brain for weeks, I thought way not make Luvdisc — a actual heart! Look at this cutie-pie. (also, I spelled “senpai” wrong in the header photo…hahaha, I don’t know what I was thinking right there!)

How perfect of a gift is this? And Luvdisc is super easy to make as well. Now that leaves just one problem: Wil will see this as soon as I post it online. hahaha, oh well! It’s a sneak peak as to what’s to come! keke~

Materials You’ll Need

  • Hot Pink Yarn (I used Red Heart in Raspberry, but I think that line might have been discontinued… any deep pink alternative can work just as well)
  • Light Pink Yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver in Petal Pink)
  • Yarn Needle
  • Hot Glue
  • Light Pink Felt
  • Black embroidery floss
  • Optional: Googly eyes / White acrylic paint

This pattern works in continuous rounds, so it might be handy to use to stitch marker to keep track of your progress.

Lips

In light pink, single crochet 3 into a magic circle.

  1. sc around (3).
  2. 2 sc in each stitch (6).
  3. 2 sc in each stitch until the end, then sl st to the 1st st.

Break Off. Breaking off is optional. You can just change colors, but I like breaking off so that my rows look even all around when I change colors. The lips should look like this finished:

Body

Attach hot pink yarn to any spot on the light pink.

  1. sc in 1 st, sc 2x in next st. Repeat around until end (18).
  2. sc in next 7 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 7 st, sc 2x in next stitch (20).
  3. sc around (20).
  4. sc in next 9 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 9 st, sc 2x in next stitch (22).
  5. sc in next 10 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 10 st, sc 2x in next stitch (24).
  6. sc in next 11 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 11 st, sc 2x in next stitch (26).
  7. sc in next 12 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 12 st, sc 2x in next stitch (28).
  8. sc in next 13 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 13 st, sc 2x in next stitch (30).
  9. sc in next 14 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 14 st, sc 2x in next stitch (32).
  10. sc in next 15 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 15 st, sc 2x in next stitch (34).
  11. sc in next 16 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 16 st, sc 2x in next stitch (36).
  12. sc in next 17 st, sc 2x in next stitch, sc in next 17 st, sc 2x in next stitch (38).  At this point, we’re ready to begin working on the two curves that make up the top of the heart.
  13. sc in next 10 st, sk 19 st, sc into 30th st, sc in next 7 st, sc 2x in last st (20).
  14. sc in each st around (20). At this point, your project should look like this:
  15. sc in next three st, sc2tog, repeat until the end of the round (16). You can now start lightly stuffing Luvdisc. Make sure you don’t stuff too heavily, because Luvdisc is supposed to be flat looking.
  16. sc in next st, sc2tog, repeat until you only have 6 stitches left (6).
  17. sc2tog three times (3).

Break off. Your work should look like this now!

Lets work on the second curve now. Attach yarn to the first loop as pictured here:

  1. sc in next 7 st, sc 2x in next st, sc in next 10 stitches, and finally sc into the first stitch where you started. You should end with 20 stitches (20).
  2. sc in each st around (20).
  3. sc in next three st, sc2tog, repeat until the end of the round (16). You can now start lightly stuffing Luvdisc again.
  4. sc in next st, sc2tog, repeat until you only have 6 stitches left (6).
  5. sc2tog three times (3).

Break off.

You should have a hole in between the two curves that look like that this.

No need to worry though! Just use your yarn needle, and sew the hole closed.

For the mouth, I just stitched some on with embroidery floss, and the blush is made with light pink felt snipped into a circle.

For I eyes, I used googly eyes, popped the inner black circle out, and used white acrylic paint to add the eye shine. It’s completely okay to not use googly eyes if you don’t have it.

Hot glue everything down and you’re done!

Now Luvdisc is ready for some action!! If you enjoyed the pattern, let us know in the comments below and make sure to share your pictures with us on on facebook, pinterest, and instagram! Seeing your creations makes us happy! :3

Happy crocheting, and Happy Valentines Day!! 😀 😀 :D~
