As fall edges closer, I can’t help but feel excited for all the festivities ahead! Despite the cooler weather, the last quarter of the year is most definitely a time of shared love and warmth between family and friends.
To help you prepare for the upcoming season, here is a basic cowl pattern that’s super easy to crochet, and best of all, takes only one skein of yarn to make!
Here is what you need:
- 180 yards of bulky yarn. I’m using (1) skein of Yarn Bee Fireside in Lotus Blossom (I got mine on sale at Hobby Lobby for only $3.89!! 😀 )
- Size L/8mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle to sew in the ends
- Scissors just to cut yarn if needed
- ch 15, turn, ch 2 (15)
- *dcr to the end, ch 2, turn*
Repeat Step 2 until you get 72 rows of dcr, or until you have a tail about 3 feet long. Your project to look like a short scarf at this point.
Now holding both ends of the scarf flat side by side, slip stitch across the scarf to form the cowl.
Now turn your work inside out and you have a a finished cowl! YAY!!
Now you can go celebrate and wear your finished work to all the fun fall festivals coming up like I do! haha
Happy Crocheting & Happy Fall!! 😀 😀
